Conventional MBS impact modifiers contain carbon-carbon double bonds, which are vulnerable to UV radiation and thermal oxidation โ causing severe performance degradation in outdoor applications. ACR (Acrylic) impact modifiers contain no double bonds, making them inherently resistant to UV attack and thermal oxidation. They deliver excellent yellowing resistance with only minor decline in impact strength and surface integrity after long-term outdoor service.
When silicone is introduced into the acrylic core structure, low-temperature toughness is further enhanced, making silicone-acrylic modifiers the premium choice for demanding cold-climate and outdoor applications.
